Program Overview – TD Ready Challenge, Community Programs
The TD Ready Challenge is a one-year, one million dollar program sponsored by TD Bank that helps 4,000 vulnerable mid-career workers succeed in the digital economy and gig labour market. The project scales and integrates several complex, existing programs and services at WoodGreen, and is a core component of the Community Programs Units (CPU) innovation strategy.
What You Will Do
Provide external and internal communication to support the TD Ready Challenge Project, as directed by the Project Manager, and to support the Community Programs Unit, as directed by the Vice President, Community Programs.
With guidance from the project manager of the TD Ready Challenge and the Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing, develop a Communications Plan to ensure effective information sharing and engagement with project stakeholders inside and outside WoodGreen.
Working with WoodGreen brand standards, design various marketing-related pieces including (but not limited to) a project logo, flyers, website banners, emails, landing pages, social media posts, posters, post cards, etc.
Create website updates to share project and CPU activities.
Create client stories to showcase the positive impact of the TD Ready Challenge project.
Develop visually impactful infographics and other data representation assets that convey the work and outcomes of the project.
Create content updates for WoodGreen’s social media platforms to support project and CPU communication strategy and grow our audience across channels including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
Document relevant project milestones and client successes by shooting photos and video of project activities, and work with the Communications Team to develop YouTube videos.
Provide hands on support at events.
With oversight from the manager, work with project and CPU funders and partners to support joint communications activities.
Maintain calendar of upcoming events, milestones, and awareness days for content planning.
What You Bring to the Team
University degree in the field of Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism.
2-3 years of experience in Communications, preferably in the non-profit/charitable sector.
What Will Set You Apart
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent ability to create infographics and represent data.
Knowledge and understanding of stakeholder engagement.
Proven ability to write clear and compelling content for both offline and online channels.
Experience with HTML and creating electronic newsletters (Mail Chimp etc.).
Experience with design and working with brand standards (Adobe Creative Suite).
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline driven environment.
Experience in gathering, analyzing, and meeting business requirements.
Understanding of basic project management principles and time management skills.
Excellent knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
High degree of diplomacy, tact, and a professional approach.
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working in a team-oriented, diverse, and collaborative environment.
Able to work some evenings and weekends when required.
