Part-Time Contract Position
Initial 6-month term; opportunity for extended term

Runnymede United Church is vibrant Christian community located in Bloor West Village/Swansea with 150+ members, with two church buildings, and an active Christian Education Program.
We are seeking someone to help coordinate and lead our Sunday School program, supporting our children and families as they grow in faith.

Duties:
Create and plan an innovative and interesting Sunday School program in consultation with the ministers. Keep records of the plans.
Coordinate and deliver the Sunday School program on a weekly basis.
Train, supervise and lead the teenage Sunday School teachers to ensure smooth delivery of the Sunday School program.
Ensure clear and timely communication with teachers, parents and students.
Plan and hold quarterly social activities or faith-based workshops for families to foster connections within the church community and neighbourhood.
Help plan and run the yearly one-week Vacation Bible Camp program.
Advise and purchase necessary equipment and supplies, as needed, for the running of Sunday school and community building events, regularly submitting receipts for reimbursement.
Be the public “face” of Runnymede’s Sunday School programme to the congregation and to the broader West Toronto neighbourhood.
Attend monthly staff meetings in-person or remotely.
Attend Faith Formation meetings as needed.
Maintain records of registration, attendance, etc.
Qualifications:
A person of Christian faith
Enthusiastic about our affirming identity (we recognize people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities as made in the image of God)
Passionate about being a central presence in the church, connecting with and integrating children, youth and their families into our faith community
Comfortable supervising and guiding youthful Sunday school teachers
Experience in program planning, coordination, communication and delivery
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, without close supervision
Excellent English language and communications skills
Proficiency in Word, Google Docs, Excel
