Overview

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the Board of Directors and the activities of the PAL Toronto Charity division. This individual will work closely with the Board and Committee members to ensure the successful delivery of all the Board priorities, programs and services to its stakeholders and residents. The ideal candidate should be experienced with not-for-profit or charitable organizations and their administration.

The duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Support the Board of Directors with all office correspondence and inquiries
  • Schedule and prepare materials for Board and Committee meetings
  • Manage and file all Corporate reports, Board minutes, and data bases
  • Research and write business letters and reports at the Board’s direction
  • Responsible for managing all inquiries and applications for residency at PAL Toronto
  • Provide support to bookkeeper with financial data entry if required
  • Submit monthly financial reports and reconciliations to the Board Treasurer
  • Assist the Communications Committee as required, including website updates

Qualifications and skills:

  • Knowledge of the City of Toronto’s Access to Housing protocol is an asset
  • Proficiency with MS Office software and knowledge of Quickbooks
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both written and orally
  • Knowledge of and an appreciation for the professional arts industry

Compensation

Terms: 3 days a week, 24 hours a week with the possibility of more hours. Salary range:  $22 to $24 an per hour, depending on experience
