Overview

FoodShare’s HR Coordinator will administer consistent HR practices and procedures
while offering support to staff in understanding current policies.
Duties Include (but are not limited to):
● Write and update employment agreement letters, job descriptions, and reference
letters for staff
● Provide support to applicable supervisors and / or hiring committees during the
recruitment process, including coordination of interviews for new job applicants
and the anonymization of resumes
● Coordinate with external providers for staff enrolment in FoodShare benefits
programs and RRSP/TFSA programs
● Coordinate WSIB reporting and claims
● Issue ROEs
● Track employee leave, training, and probationary status
● Use metrics to provide reports as required
● Coordinate the onboarding process for new staff with applicable supervisor
● Assist with the preparation of the internal newsletter
● Respond to staff questions about the HR Policy Manual
● Assist the Senior Leadership Team when developing new policies, procedures and
updates that relate to the HR Policy Manual and other staff functions as required
● Ensure policies and practices are in compliance with all applicable legislation and
regulations
● Participate in FoodShare’s Joint Health and Safety Committee and Human
Resource Committee
● Maintain organized employee files and reports
● Attend meetings and events as directed
● Represent FoodShare as a contributing member of a growing and dynamic team
● Other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
● 1 – 3 years of experience in a human resources / business administration support
role including:
o Experience with managing and tracking HR records
o Experience coordinating on-boarding and off-boarding of employees
o Experience with Employee Benefits Programs

o Experience with WSIB claims and ROE process
● A familiarity with Food Justice as it pertains to diversity, equity and inclusion in the
workplace
● Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication
o Including experience using Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite software
● Mindful and articulate with good listening skills
● A high level of integrity for handling sensitive and confidential information
● Exceptional judgment, strong initiative, and a quick learner with strong strategic
thinking and analytical skills
● Highly motivated and efficient, with the ability to execute and manage a diversity of
tasks, activities and projects
● Independent worker, reliable and responsible

Reports to: Director of Operations Salary: $42,000 prorated to 4 days per week & full benefits. RRSP or TFSA contributions after successful completion of probation period.
