West Neighbourhood House, a multi-service community agency working with west-central Toronto neighbourhoods, is looking for 2 highly motivated individuals to join its Seniors Community Development team as part of the Older Adult Centre.
The successful candidates will be working together with the Seniors Community Development Team, supporting staff on program delivery, data collection and special events across three locations.
As a member of the Seniors Community Development team, the successful candidate will also participate in Team, Unit and House-wide activities as required.
The Seniors Community and Social Services Intern position is funded by Employment and Social Development, Canada. As per the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria, the applicant must be between the ages of 15-30, have a valid SIN, and be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or person who has been granted Refugee status in Canada. Please note that international students, and those who are in Canada on a work, youth, or visitor visa/permit, are not eligible for the program.

Responsibilities:
- Support the team in facilitating online and/or in-person group activities.
- Set up room and stream equipment for hybrid activities.
- Monitor and provide support to participants and volunteers during program activities.
- Keep updated qualitative and quantitative statistical data.
- Promote program activities within the local multi-cultural community and support the program team with outreach activities.
- Provide support to the Staff Team as required.
- Provide IT support to participants, one-one-one and in a group setting.
- Support Teams with satisfaction survey, focus groups, and program evaluation activities.
- As a team member of the Older Adult Centre Unit, participate in the delivery of House-wide events, and other activities as required.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Possess strong computer skills.
- Be comfortable with a variety of social media and online programs.
- Have experience facilitating small groups.
- Experience facilitating virtual groups in an asset.
- Be able to work alone and as part of a team.
- Be available to work flexible hours, that may include evenings.
Status: Summer Contract – 8 weeks (2 positions)
Start Date: June 30, 2025
Location: Work will be conducted in-person
Hours: 35 hours per week
