Overview

Are you a curious and creative writer who thrives on the challenge of creating compelling and engaging content? Do you have a natural ability for project coordination? If so, we welcome you to explore the role of Coordinator, Digital Content & Communications – a key position within Imagine Canada’s Experience Team. In this dynamic and multifaceted position, you will craft exceptional content for various channels and stakeholder groups and coordinate and implement campaigns to help the organization achieve its communication and business goals.

The responsibilities we’ll trust you with include:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Communications (Bilingual):

Content Writing & Campaign Coordination – 75%

– Write blog posts, news items, press releases, podcast episode descriptions, web page copy, email copy, annual report and other assets, ensuring alignment with goals, key messaging, performance optimization (e.g., SEO), and brand and accessibility guidelines.
– Create and coordinate the execution of newsletters and assigned communications campaigns, including writing copy, creating images, and building emails and templated web pages.
– Assist with writing research dissemination materials and coordinating study releases
Coordinate with external partners to implement newsletter ads and sponsored content as per agreements and guidelines.
– Coordinate the design and production of various assets as assigned.
– Coordinate basic translation & bilingual quality assurance as assigned.

Communications & Content Calendar Coordination – 10%

– Schedule content & communications calendar planning meetings, supporting the Sr. Manager of Strategic Communications in agenda-drafting, note-taking, and follow-up.
– Convert content & communications calendar plans into campaign briefs and Experience Team tasks, proactively updating planning tools and communicating changes internally.

Social Media & Brand Coordination – 10%

– Partner with the Coordinator, Digital Experience to plan & schedule, research, curate and write content for social media platforms to align with overall marketing and communication strategies.
– Monitor social activity for brand mentions, reviews, and sentiment analysis, sharing insights and coordinating responses with internal teams when necessary.
– Ensure Imagine Canada brand guidelines and assets are easily accessible internally and externally.

Performance Optimization Support – 5%

– Coordinate and/or support work with internal teams to regularly review and update web, social and newsletter content for accessibility and performance, including review of keywords, links, etc.
– Collaborate with Digital Experience & Data/Solutions colleagues to generate simple reporting and analytic tools for website, social and email to share with internal teams.
– Research competitors and leading research and coordinate the implementation of strategies to enhance performance across assigned channels.

Minimum qualifications you need to excel in this role include:
– Nous recherchons une personne parfaitement bilingue! Please note that this role requires a complete command of written and spoken French and English. Language skills will be tested during the interview process.
– 2 years or more experience in a professional environment carrying out bilingual copywriting, marketing, advertising, journalism, knowledge mobilization, and/or communications activities.
– Ability to write strong, succinct copy in English and French that is grammatically correct.
– Strong research skills that ensure all copy is correct and accurate.
– Ability to quickly and accurately understand the needs of internal and external stakeholders, and proactively seek out and implement feedback to improve work.
– Capable of translating at times technical information and ideas into compelling and accessible copy for diverse stakeholder groups.
– Understanding of digital writing principles including email marketing, social media, and web/SEO.
Experience using content management systems, HTML, Mailchimp/Salesforce Account Engagement, Buffer, Google Adwords, and Canva would be advantageous, but not essential.
– Knowledge of search engine marketing (SEM) techniques is a strong asset.

*Remote work is the norm for staff, but in-person attendance at regular staff retreats (and other meetings depending on the role) is required.

Compensation

Terms & Conditions Terms of Employment: This is a full-time, permanent position Annual Salary Range: In addition to health/dental benefits, Group RSP, professional development, and home office budget, the starting salary for this position is $61,300, with an automatic salary increase every year. The target salary for this role is $73,500, which the coordinator is expected to reach after three years in the role. Location: Anywhere in Canada with a reliable internet connection Work hours: Imagine Canada is currently piloting a 4-day work week, Monday-Thursday, for a total of 28 working hours/week. This pilot is running until December 31, 2024 with the possibility of extension. If the pilot is not extended, working hours will be 35 hours per week. Flexible working hours to accommodate personal and family commitments. Application deadline: March 8 at 5 pm ET. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interviews will be conducted as qualified applicants are identified; applications will remain open until the position is filled. In recognition of the efforts of preparing for a full interview, Imagine Canada will financially compensate interviewees that advance beyond the screening call at a fixed rate of $100 per candidate.

How to Apply

Steps to apply  1. Applicants are invited to complete our short online form. 2. We expect to invite 8-12 qualified candidates to a short introductory video call (20 minutes) and to complete a behavioural assessment to better understand and discuss your working style (10 minutes to complete). Interview questions and a copy of your assessment results will be provided in advance of the call. 3. We expect to invite four or five shortlisted candidates to attend a full, video interview (45-60 minutes) with our hiring committee of 4 staff members and complete a writing assessment. 4. We expect the final two or three candidates will be asked to attend a short interview/meeting with our CEO and some members of the hiring committee (30 minutes). 5.
